Ascending
There are countless ways to ascend a rope, here are a few simple ones:
Reverso style Belay device as ascending ratchett
- set up belay device in autoblock mode
- build leg prussik
- go up, if you want to rappel undweight belay device, clip biner behin belay device into harness & rappel
Garder Hitch (one way ratchett)
- loop rope through 2 biners
- go round and through one
Grigri/ reverso style and ascender
- attach leg loop to ascender
- grigri/reverso as ratchett
- 3:1 by passing rope through biner on ascender
- (if not possible knot a loop into the top of the leg loop and use for biner)
...or use set of texas prussiks
REMEMBER! Always use backup knots.. clove hitches below ratchett to belay loop OR panic/catastrophe knots, about every 3m
