  • knot should look perfect and the loose end should fit in a fist
  • a longer end is annoying and can be tied of with a barrel knot, tieing a “Yosemite finish” (rope back through loop) is a questionable idea

• Double Fisherman joins ropes permanently
• Triple Fisherman join spectra stuff (but using spectra cord sucks, so don't)
• Double Overhand aka “European Death Knot”/EDK is the best knot to join ropes temporarily
• Don't get stupidly creative like using a reef knot. A dobule sheet bend will probably work, but there is no reason to try
  • The same goes for a figure-8, a figure-8 similar to the EDK is crazy dangerous, a rewoven-8 will probably work but again, no reason to try
